An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Digital Development Manager, with Drupal specialisms, within the University of Surrey’s Digital Team.
Reporting to the Head of Digital, you will be passionate about creating elegant technical solutions, building first-class user interfaces and displaying exceptional attention to detail.
This is an exciting time to join a team leading the development of an in-house platform for a portfolio of websites and apps. You will use an extensive knowledge of Drupal, JavaScript, HTML and CSS to create robust and user-friendly websites, develop new platform features and roll them out.
This is a hands-on development role working with internal clients and leading a team of two developers, maintaining a varied portfolio of Drupal websites, developing sites from scratch, resolving back-end issues, resolving styling issues and assisting internal and external users with technical support.
The key purpose of this role is to deliver web technologies that support the strategic aims of the University to deliver planned growth and build its reputation.
Key elements of the role:
• Drupal theming and templating.
• Back-end configuration of Drupal and other open source Content Management Systems.
• Interpreting graphic or interactive design into HTML, CSS & jQuery.
• Maintenance and bug fixing of existing websites.
• Working within an Agile team to deliver various projects on time.
• Ensuring developments go through an appropriate testing process.
• Leading the technical architecture behind front-end systems.
• Responsible code integrity and accessibility.
