Fantastic opportunity for a Senior PHP Developer to join a forward thinking technology-centric company in the North East that has witnessed exceptional growth over the last 7 years.
They are currently looking for a Senior PHP Application Developer to continue the evolution of the core MIS application as well as existing front office web and mobile applications. You’ll be an experienced PHP application developer with a real passion for building business critical systems using the latest development technologies.
You’ll be genuinely excited by technology, keep yourself abreast of the latest thinking in the software development world and most probably code your own projects in your spare time.
Essential skills
You must be able to demonstrate exceptional technical skills and knowledge within:
- PHP 5.3
- MVC Frameworks
- MySQL
- Strong understanding of object oriented programming
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- Version control
- 5+ years’ software development experience
- Experience architecting, building and maintaining complex software applications
- Working experience of continuous integration
- Strong debugging skills
- Experience of giving and receiving code reviews
- Experience in Linux server administration
- Good knowledge of database performance optimisation
- Worked with a team of multiple developers on the same project
You will be required to work closely with the testing/QA team so it is imperative that you can demonstrate unit testing and preferably within a test driven development.

- Working experience of unit testing, preferably test driven development
Since this is a senior position it is expected that you have 5+ years software development experience, ideally within commercial environment.
