The team is looking for an engineer to work on our development efforts into voice, vision and the new frontier of wearable devices. We have an ambitious charter and roadmap and the team will build scalable systems and platforms in the areas of vision and voice; the ultimate aim being to bring a complete hands free shopping experience to Amazon's customers. We're also betting big on wearable devices and are already working on writing the first Amazon app on Google Glass and Samsung watches. We're a young entrepreneurial team focused on adding value for our customers through innovation and experimentation. - Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Electrical Engineering
- 4+ years professional experience in software development
- Proficiency in Computer Science fundamentals - object oriented design, data structures, algorithm - design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
-Proficiency in at least one modern object oriented language such as C++, Java or C#
- Experience in web technologies such as JavaScript, JQuery, JQuery mobile, AJAX and HTML5
- Preferred QualificationsExperience building complex mobile applications on Android , iOS or Windows Phone platforms that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Experience delivering low-latency, consumer-internet-scale web services operating in a 24x7 environment
- Experience with Agile (SCRUM, RUP, XP), OO modeling, web services, UNIX, middleware and databases
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Experience mentoring and training the engineering community on complex technical issues
- Proven track record of delivery
- Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills
