The Manager, Mobile Development is the key senior role in the vision and development of the LearnVest mobile platform, which includes our highly rated (4.5+) and award-winning iPhone and iPad apps. You will be the lead architect and developer of our iOS apps, and manage a small and extremely talented team of iOS developers, and work closely with other members of LV’s 30-strong technology group. You will work closely with other technical leaders in the company on key tech initiatives, QA leads to manage and coordinate quality assurance efforts on the mobile applications and the CTO and other executives in defining the mobile strategy and roadmap for LearnVest. You are an extreme perfectionist, insisting on pixel-perfection of applications and fidelity to designs and prototypes. Finally, you are an artist, working closely with our designers to define the perfect user experience on our mobile apps.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering of LearnVest’s iOS apps (public facing and internal) and collaborate on their design and specifications from that perspective.
- Participate in the overall maintenance of the application, including bug fixes, performance enhancements and runtime production support.
- Work with server-side engineers to define service APIs to support the mobile applications.
- As needed, generate technical documentation for various aspects of the application.
- As needed, work with front-end web developers to integrate javascript bridged, web view features.
- Manage a team of A+ junior and mid-level iOS developers who will report directly you and look to you for code-evel guidance and assistance.
- Spearhead the effort to expand LV’s mobile presence into the Android space, from architecture, vendor veting, selection, hiring and scaling.
- Work closely with the CTO and executives in crafting the LearnVest’s long-term mobile strategy and roadmap.
