In this role, you will lead the development of a functional area for Solution Applications. This team is chartered with developing and supporting a platform of web & mobile applications, services, and integrations provided to dealers and their customers as a Platform as a service (PaaS). An ideal candidate would be a self-starter who is passionate about technology, understands business goals and creates scalable, flexible technical solutions. The candidate would be fully responsible for delivery and ensuring modern software development practices are being applied with rigor. They would motivate the team and cultivate a culture of high energy and technical excellence. Establishing a good support infrastructure to handle production issues and being responsive to customer problems is essential to the role.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily work of a functional team and own overall delivery for that area.
- Manage overall platform roadmap including estimated delivery timelines and progress reports.
- Architect, design, and develop software applications.
- Motivate team and create a strong culture of engineering excellence.
- Mentor team on good object oriented designs, patterns & domain modeling.
- Enforce agile practices like test driven development, continuous integration, & test automation.
- Collaborate with external agencies on design and development.
- Cultivate technical backlog with team leads to upgrade platform continuously; prioritizing initiatives for the biggest impact in the product areas we support.
- Analyze & remediate production issues, build in fault tolerance & operational readiness into the system architecture with a focus on operationally ready solutions.
- Be a software guardian. Own non-functional requirements, architectural direction, quality of the code and addressing technical debt.
