The Role
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, in this role you will be instrumental in leading our team of talented engineers to deliver new features to a bleeding-edge HTML5 application. You will help to decide the technologies and architecture to improve our product and code quality without organizational or development roadblocks.
As the Lead Software Engineer, you will use your leadership and drive to help define Gliffy as being the superior application in reliability and ingenuity on the web and mobile. You will learn every aspect of our Gliffy Online ecosystem and agile and lean development processes to empower you to architect and build successful features end to end. You will help us maintain our image as a strong customer advocate by assisting our support team with more complex technical customer issues. You will work closely with the engineering and product teams, to provide visual solutions that are technically elegant and effective. You will help us grow and provide inspiration for the development team, to produce professional and cultural happiness for each member.
Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, deployment and maintenance of the Gliffy Online eco-system
- Provide technical architecture decisions to improve product, code quality, and performance
- Monitor and report on success of the Gliffy Online ecosystem
- Improve the reliability and scalability of Gliffy Online
- Define engineering standards/best practices
- Implement features using our Agile development process, Lean principles, TDD and code reviews
- Mentor and conduct reviews of more junior engineers on the team
- Grow the team!
- Operate as a Scrum Master, provide estimates for planning, and organize the backlog
