Developer Team Lead at Corporate Project Solutions (Marlow, United Kingdom)

Due to our continued growth we are looking for a Development Team Lead who is experienced in ensuring successful delivery of software developments to our client base ensuring time, cost and quality expectations are successfully achieved. The focus of the role is to provide oversight and delivery of developments, adhering to CPS development standards whilst ensuring the effect utilisation of the development team. The successful applicant should expect to be hands on as required.As the Development Team Lead you will be predominantly based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire and will be responsible for the effective line management of the development team, however occasional travel to clients in either an assurance or delivery capacity should be expected.

Specific Role Requirements

A self-starter, keen to further develop their knowledge & skillset, with a ?make it happen' attitude.

Providing oversight of a range of software developments to a broad client base, applying a commercial awareness around the delivery solutions and services.

Ensuring developments are provided using the appropriate SDLC and delivered to the appropriate development standards, ensuring all developments are robust, fully tested, of high quality and fit for purpose.

Remaining hands on, providing development assurance and contributing/leading on some development assignments.

Working with engagement leads to plan and execute developments, ensuring that developers have the appropriate specifications and direction to deliver products effectively.

Managing resource with the ability to foster teamwork and act as a coach/mentor, ensuring that all objectives and commitments are fulfilled in line with expectations, agreements and standards.

Customer facing role acting as a point of escalations when there are issues, acting with credibility and professionalism as well as giving confidence to customers on the actions being taken.

Demonstrable experience in a software development consulting role, in a corporate software development environment or in a software development organisation.

Broad knowledge of software development lifecycles, with experience gained through all phases from design, development, test and release cycle to delivery and maintenance.

University degree required, and/or industry-recognised certification preferred.


Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for all client & internal software development
· Identifying & assigning owners to deliver developments ensuring successful delivery
· Provide development resource to support Sales with estimate facilitation
· Prioritise development resource & assignment conflicts as required, liaising with engagement leads, team leads and sales as required
· Ensure the development team deliver a professional, customer focused and high performing development service
· Ensure quality management processes are followed within the development team, ensuring all developments are robust, fully tested, of high quality and fit for purpose
· Ensure commercial controls are applied for development work packages projects
· Undertake development assignments
· Maintain and continually improve application and software delivery methods and standards across the organisation
· Oversee improvements around processes, tools, standards and the overall quality of work produced by the Development team
· Develop and maintain professional credible relationships with key internal stakeholders, relevant third parties and strategic suppliers.
· Ensure that unit and system testing are undertaken to required standards
· Ensure development handovers to support and engagement leads are executed
· Support development consultants with problem resolution as requested
· Support engagement leads by providing a development assurance role
· Ensure CPS development standards are correctly applied on projects
· Own and maintain the CPS Source Code repository
· Budgeting and cost control of the development team
· Line management of the development delivery team:
oManage the consultant professional development plans
oEnsure consultants carry out their annual objectives
oEnsure resource utilisation targets are being achieved
oEnsure timesheets submissions are progressed correctly
oDisciplinary and redundancy process
oConsultant appraisals and pay review
· Development Consultant recruitment as permitted by the organisation
