Insight Catastrophe Group is looking for a Product Manager to take on managing a diverse suite of applications that make up a RESTful web services platform in the residential property insurance industry. This roles includes taking ownership of the software itself, and managing the lifecycle of definition, development, testing, deployment, and validation.
Responsibilities:
- Build and retain a great software design & development team, including interviewing, hiring and management.
- Organize development of and manage the software product roadmap.
- Facilitate the design of a user experience superior to other comparable software offerings.
- Serve as liaison between the business and technical development teams.
- Triage incoming bug/defect reports and enhancement requests.
- Oversee software release and feature launches.
If you want to do well here, you should have:
- Familiarity with the insurance industry, especially residential property.
- A passion for delivering software that makes peoples lives easier.
- Excellent communication skills, both in person and remotely.
- An understanding of the challenges of managing a distributed software platform.
- A finely tuned sense of when to hold out for ideals vs. compromise for practicality.
- Worked in Scrum and other development methodologies.
- Some personal software development experience.
Location is flexible, but the Raleigh, NC, area is preferred.
