Audible’s Connected Devices team is looking for a software development engineer to join our work on the future of Audible’s Android applications for downloading, listening to, and managing spoken-audio content on portable devices. As a member of Audible’s Engineering Group, the software development engineer is expected to design, develop and implement high-quality, scalable, maintainable and robust solutions. This involves working with a variety of groups including Development Managers, Product/Program Managers, Quality Assurance Engineers, Business stakeholders, etc. The software you develop will be used on a daily basis by consumers world-wide and will be one of the key touch points they have with Audible and Amazon.

- Proficiency in one or more of the following languages/platforms: Java, Android, Objective C, iOS, C, C++
- Demonstrated ability to identify real-world user problems and build technology solutions to solve them
- Exhibits strong leadership qualities including excellent judgment, relentlessly high standards, can dive deep and remain in touch with business details, drives innovation in their teams, invokes passion in others, can think big, and delivers results
- Customer-focused, ability to triage issues, react well to changes, work with teams and ability to multi-task on multiple products and projects
- Experienced in building Android mobile applications
- Experience in prototyping user interfaces in partnership with Product Managers and User Interface designers.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development strategies
- Experience in developing quality software tests, including unit, integration, and automation tests.
- Experience in implementing software architecture for large/complex Android applications
