Position summary
Systems Engineers are members of the Product Engineering group (PE) at NWEA, a high-functioning team of creative, collaborative, motivated and professional individuals driven by the singular mission of partnering to help all kids learn. We are in search of like-minded individuals who want to build and operate cutting-edge technologies to deliver a SaaS assessment platform that supports upwards of 100,000 concurrent users. As a member of the Technical Operations team within PE, you will design, build and manage a world class infrastructure to support NWEA's products and mission. Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain and automate multiple Redhat/CentOS Linux environments via Puppet and Foreman
• Participate in continuous integration efforts and Agile software development processes to support regular software releases for our SaaS platform
• Lead the evaluation, selection and deployment of new technologies and tools
• Work with project managers, department heads and team members to determine project approaches, parameters and priorities
Work with colleagues to optimize overall system performance. This includes working with applications, network, storage, database and server technology
Provide support to internal and external clients, including participation in the 24x7 on-call rotation
Perform system audits, document findings, and publish recommendations
Keep abreast of technical developments to ensure the NWEA is able to take advantage of industry advances
