This position will allow you to build out and lock down a new cloud infrastructure to support our hardware in the field. You'll have the opportunity to touch on a very wide range of subjects including:
- Machine-to-machine cellular networks
- Encryption
- Amazon vpc, ec2, cloudwatch, rds, s3, elastic beanstalk, etc...
- Intrusion detection/intrusion prevention
- Hardware security modules
- Networking/VPNs
- Organizing and deploying remote firmware updates
- PCI-DSS level 1 compliance
- Design and implementation of disaster recovery solution
- Queueing systems (ironmq, zeromq)
- Log analysis (splunk, sumo)
- Establish and support a decentralized BYOD policy
- Script and code some elements of the overall processing systems
Our expectation is that you are really knowledgeable and experienced in many of these areas and that you are capable of quickly coming up to speed and devising solutions in the others.
The responsibilities of the position will evolve as the company expands and goes to market with our hardware.
Initially, the job will be:
- Building out the cloud systems
- Wiring up our logging for security and compliance monitoring
- Going through the PCI compliance process
We will then switch into operation and expansion mode:
- Daily monitoring of security and compliance dashboards
- Responding to and resolving alerts
- Build out for the next phase
You'll work for and closely with our VP of Engineering and the DipJar management and hardware teams and have many opportunities to use what you know and develop new skills and knowledge through doing.
Given the importance of this position, we do require someone in the area. However we are also flexible about working from home or wherever you are most productive.
