STOP PRESS! Amazon’s International Technology organisation is creating a new software engineering team in London, UK. We are hiring a strong Software Development Manager to serve as the engineering leader for this brand new team.

Amazon strives to be Earth’s most customer-centric company, and the International Technology group (InTech) owns the enhancement and delivery of Amazon’s cutting-edge engineering to all the varied customers and cultures of the world. We do this through a combination of partnerships with other Amazon technical teams and our own innovative new projects. We make sure that each of our website businesses is a thoughtful combination of Amazon known best practices and unique last-mile engineering driven by each country’s customers’ needs. Our work spans a deep technology stack from front-end customer experience to back-end service technology and has very high visibility to senior leadership, with small teams owning highly significant services. And (of course!) InTech is itself international, with teams in Seattle, Beijing, Bangalore, Luxembourg, Brazil - and now the UK.

InTech is creating a new software development team in London, UK. As its first initiative for 2015, InTech UK is creating Vendor Express International, a new program to increase selection for our retail customers by enabling international manufacturers to sell their products easier and faster through Amazon websites worldwide. We will create a fully self-service process that will enable a manufacturer to go from account creation to an Amazon purchase order in minutes without human intervention at any stage. We will achieve this goal by creating a simple and elegant experience, working across many Amazon services and workflows, all the way through to responsive website development using Amazon’s newest website platform architectures and front-end technologies.

As a first step in creating InTech UK, we must find an experienced software development manager. If you are that person, then you will lead a team of developers who build and enhance key services and user experience for International Technology, starting with Vendor Express International. You will coordinate the creation and execution of long-term roadmaps for InTech. You will drive continual improvements to the efficiency, flexibility and international capability of our technology platform. You will run an Agile team, and you will manage the needs of multiple stakeholders across Amazon worldwide. You will also drive strategic planning, project execution and development of engineering talent, and you will extend and improve our existing sophisticated and high performing technology platform.
