The Product Development organization within Paylocity embraces the Agile software development process. By adhering to the manifesto, Prod Dev has developed agile principles that best fit its creative environment. In addition to daily scrum stand ups, all agile routines and ceremonies are engraved into the process. Business stake holders are actively involved in release planning, sprint demos and check-ins.
As a member of the Core Engineering team, he/she will be responsible for creating, enhancing and supporting common features and platform services that enable product teams to meet their commitments. The Core Engineering team mission is to drive the adoption of new technologies, develop re-usable components and perform architectural enhancements, allowing the product teams to deliver scalable enterprise level applications.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
The Principal Engineer will actively be involved in technical design, hands-on coding and performance tuning on cross-cutting product platforms and features.

- Troubleshoot performance issues and provide necessary recommendations
- Collaborate with other team members to develop solutions that integrate well across multiple platforms/product lines.
