Doorsteps is a part of the Move, Inc. family of businesses and provides an online tool for prospective home buyers who are looking to save time, money, and stress. We help you know whether it’s smart for you to buy, how to get ready faster, and make the best possible decisions along the way.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team at the Doorsteps office in the Union Square section of New York City.This position will involve working with the entire web stack here at Doorsteps. We use a mix of new technologies, and try to solve problems with tools that make sense. We strive for short iterations and delivering deployable code as quickly as possible. Our core infrastructure is built using Ruby on Rails, Javascript/Coffeescript, jQuery, SQL, Resque, Heroku, and Git.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Be comfortable working with our core technologies
- Have a passion for clean, test-driven, and well-documented code, and be comfortable with occasional pair programming
- Develop consumer-based features/applications that will excite and please a user base of millions
- Collaborate with Product Management and User Experience regarding product definition, schedule, scope, and project-related decisions
- Develop best practices and architecture
