An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Lonely Planet, the world’s leading travel brand, as a Technical Project Manager based in our Franklin, TN office. Reporting to the Director of Online Product, this role is offered as a full-time position.

You are their guide into the technical project underworld and can help them quickly and effortlessly understand the details, without the jargon. You take the lead when it comes to determining scope, ensuring realistic scheduling and managing dependencies across teams and projects.

You have an understanding of the challenges a software development team face every day and a possess the desire to do good with your powers of project management by protecting the development team from unnecessary interruptions. Developers need to be doing what they do best! In addition to helping effectively plan and execute work, you will be a champion for the team, publicising their achievements internally and externally.

You live to deliver on projects and are ready to take responsibility for multiple technical projects across Lonely Planet. You are also ridiculously organised and awesome at planning. You have the ability to juggle and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and to adapt to changing and competing priorities, while maintaining extremely high attention to detail.
What we want you to do:
- Work with key stakeholders, to define and manage project scope, objectives, milestones, roles and accountabilities, deliverables and approach
- Provide proactive updates to stakeholders on the progress of work, identifying any risks, blockers or delays
- Work with stakeholders and development teams across multiple global locations to create and execute work plans that meet changing needs and requirements
- Manage the backlog and iteration planning
- Manage day-to-day planning, tracking and scheduling aspects of projects
- Lead and contribute to business activities and deliverables including undertaking business and process analysis
- Ensure all project activities are coordinated with other projects and business units as appropriate
- Review deliverables prepared by the team prior to development commencing
- Work with the Product Council and development teams to refine or rewrite our Software Development Lifecycle to flexibly meet changing project needs
- Identify and effectively manage project risks and issues
- Work with Development and Web Operations teams to manage transition of new products to production
- Report on product development progress at multiple levels.
