Principal Application Specialist, Institute for Relevant Clinical Data Analytics (IRCDA)

In 2006, Boston Children’s Hospital began work on creating Standardized Clinical Assessment and Management Plans (SCAMPs) which are constantly evolving decision trees for treating a specific condition.  A SCAMP consistently measures outcomes and engages clinicians to improve upon those outcomes to deliver better and more efficient care to patients.  SCAMPs quickly became a revolutionary tool within the healthcare industry as the first data-backed, evolving form of practice guidelines.
The Institute for Relevant Clinical Data Analytics (IRCDA) was started in 2010 to help with the spread and promotion of SCAMPs to interested institutions.  Currently, IRCDA works with a network of 10 institutions (including Boston Children’s) and has effectively shown that SCAMPs help to reduce practice variation, improve patient care, and decrease ineffective or unnecessary resource utilization in the healthcare industry.
As we work to expand to additional sites, a data collection tool is needed that meets the needs of our network sites.  As SCAMPs are incorporated in to the daily clinical workflow, there are many factors that need to be taken in to account as part of this development.   To that end, we are seeking to hire three new, energetic, and innovative programmers to our team who would help in the development of this database tool.  The ideal candidates for these positions would thrive in a close teamwork environment and be very detail oriented.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills will be needed to interface effectively with both users and the rest of the development team.
