Summary
The Scrum Master is responsible for managing product delivery from process as well as Agile project management perspectives. The Scrum Master orchestrates and promotes application of Lean UX principles on delivery teams. This includes working closely with the Agile team to understand the business requirements, contribute to estimating the cost of delivering the solution, supporting the team in resolving impediments, coordinating cross-team dependencies, and managing the team until the solution is incrementally delivered to the customer. This role combines Scrum Master responsibilities and advanced Lean UX practices with content and technology project manager responsibilities, making the Scrum Master responsible for all aspects of content, multimedia, and software delivery, from concept to solution.
The Scrum Master works closely with the Product Owner (responsible for the product roadmap and prioritization decisions), the Content Managers (responsible for learning asset design and execution) and Tech Lead (responsible for the architecture and design decisions) in creating customer-centric products based on advanced learning and technology solutions, Lean UX approach, and Kaplan Product Principles. The Scrum Master is a technically competent person across a number of content domains and technologies, with strong Agile knowledge and project/program management skills.
Responsibilities
- Drive Agile team to success by being innovative, thoughtful, and forward thinking
- Remove team impediments and build high performance teams
- Facilitate all agile ceremonies for a Scrum team
- Create and maintain a plan for continuous roadmapping
- Constantly improve team processes to make them as efficient and beneficial as possible
- Coordinate all release schedules with Tech Ops
- Escalate any issues with Tech Ops or emergency release needs to the Tech Lead
- Coordinate team details such as account/system access, time reporting, and tools
- Handle all vendor contracts and invoicing
- Maintain team metrics and make visible to team
- Keep Agile tools and repositories updated on an ongoing basis while suggesting solutions
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies with other Scrum Masters as part of Scrum of Scrums and the Scrum Master Forum
- Amplify Agile best practices as part of global Agile Community of Knowledge at Kaplan

Requirements
-Fluency in written and spoken Spanish required
-2+ years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle
-1+ years of experience as a Scrum Master working with Scrum Team(s)
-Demonstrated experience in Scrum
-Team facilitation skills and the ability maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization and across multidisciplinary groups
-Demonstrated knowledge of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures
-Experience using agile planning techniques
-Proven ability to work with business owners to help them create and maintain product backlog
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
-Proven ability to work independently with non-technical departments
-Possess self awareness and take pride in motivating the team
-Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Daptiv is preferred, but not required
-Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is preferred, but not required
