The team collaborates with key business and technical personnel to implement customer centric solutions. The Technical Business Analyst works with customers, business stakeholders, and other project resources to research, evaluate, document, design, test, and implement technological solutions that enhance the value of the company's product and business systems. Through these efforts, the Technical Business Analyst helps the company leverage new and existing technologies to improve the quality of customer satisfaction, system deployment, the efficiency of product delivery and the effectiveness of information analysis. The Technical Business Analyst works closely with the Product Owner to ensure that technology development yields excellent products through clear priorities and goals.

Job Summary: 



  • Works in Scrum environment, assigned to the K12/Spanish/Global stream and interface with shared resources for coordination and requirements.

  • Elicits clear, actionable requirements using interviews, document analysis, user story workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, stories, personas, scenarios and workflow analysis.

  • Fosters a sense of teamwork with the K12/Spanish/Global Agile team to build high quality products.

  • With product owner, sets priorities and vision for the team

  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements and, with this information, works with development team to develop or modify information systems

  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs to ultimately set priorities with the product owner

  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver completed stories with Acceptance Criteria to team

  • Successfully engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • Drives and challenges Kaplan K12/Spanish/Global product and curriculum teams on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans, ensuring decisions will support long term and short term technology and business visions

  • Possesses superlative verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, including customers, executives,

  • managers, and subject matter experts

  • Collaborates with developers, architects and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

  • Builds a strong understanding of K-12 education review products in order to shape and guide outcomes

  • Validates system functionality with end users Coordinates analysis and alignment of business and customer needs and documents requirements

  • Works in some phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment

  • Performs ad hoc data analysis and problem investigation as needed



Qualifications 



  • Spanish fluency (speaking, reading, writing) required

  • Four (4) year college degree, business or information systems major preferred



Required Knowledge and Skills



  • 5+years related analysis experience and experience in a technical environment in a program management or business analyst role

  • Experience working in Agile framework, preferably Scrum

  • Knowledge of software development and project management processes

  • Superlative written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to build trust across groups of technology and business people to gather information and deliver project

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong understanding of business and operational systems and models Knowledge of application tools, web technologies and databases

  • Proficient personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Effective problem-solving and issue resolution capabilities

  • Ability to actively manage priority and scope for technical development and to maintain a level head in stressful situations
