The ideal candidate is an idea generator who offers innovative solutions through a combination of creative thinking and deep understanding of the problem space. Projects will leverage Amazon’s technological capabilities and platforms to make Quidsi’s solutions compelling, unique and sustainable.

Responsibilities:
· Propose, prototype and evaluate multiple areas of optimization for our e-commerce applications and mobile-optimized sites
· Build high availability/ high reliability software on time
· Construct secure, scalable, and low-latency services and mobile applications
· Provide hands-on code contribution and shipping responsibility - libraries, API's, documentation
· Partner with Marketing and Merchandising stakeholders to define functional solutions for business problems

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or corresponding experience equaling 4 year degree
· 5+ years experience in at least one of the following modern programming languages: C#, Java, Python or Ruby
· Minimum of 2 years of web applications/services experience

· Building highly-available distributed systems on a cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS)
· Delivering low-latency, consumer-internet-scale web services
· Experience working with, or an interest in Agile Methodologies, such as Extreme Programming (XP) and Scrum
· Strong OO skills, Computer Science fundamentals in data structures and algorithm design
· Training and mentoring the engineering community on complex technical issues
· Managing expectations, meeting firm deadlines and thriving in a dynamic work environment
· Problem solving and complexity analysis
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Maintaining a sense of humor
