The Mission
Have you ever had a customer tell you that your product has changed their life? Changed their family tree? Our customers tell us this every day. Our company is well-established and the best in our market space and we've been changing lives for more than 20 years. More than 2.5 million families have attended our classes and more than 1 million people have attended our live events. We are moving and shaking and we need your help!
The Opportunity
Our legacy application has served us well, but we've got a huge vision for a reinvented product, rebuilt from the ground up using the latest technologies and best practices. We're currently seeking a remotely-based, senior-level, contract Rails developer to join in our 50+ development team to bring our newly re-imagined product to life. We need a top shelf performer who wants to partner with our team to think above challenges and provide smart solutions. Our products have a long history of being the absolute best in this market space, and this product is no exception.
We rely on
- Ruby on Rails + RESTful Services
- TDD
- Scrum/Agile principles
- Close collaboration with UI/UX, QA, Architects, and Designers
- Usability testing (with actual customers!)
- Leadership that believes in us and believes this product will win
- An ample supply of bacon
This is a remote-based 12 month contract with the possibility for ongoing engagement.
If you represent a team of developers, please do not apply.
How to Apply
If you think this opportunity sounds interesting and you're not afraid of copious amounts of bacon (seriously, we really love bacon) and the occasional Star Wars pop quiz, we invite you to send your resume and introductory email. In your introductory email, please be sure to address the following questions:
- Are you familiar with Dave Ramsey? (This is an important question, hint hint)
- In Ruby, what is the difference between a module and a class and why might you use one over the other?
- Who would you prefer be at the helm of your Galaxy class starship heading into battle against the Romulan Empire: Kirk or Picard? (this is almost as important as question #1, hint hint)
