Build the human-robot interface for the next generation of commercial drones.
Airware is designing a user interface for autonomous aerial systems that is functional, efficient, and beautiful. The UI Software Developer will primarily design/develop/test features for our cross-platform Ground Control Station (GCS) software. He or she will inevitably touch many other user-facing applications such as the dashboard utility for streamlined aircraft configuration. The UI Software Developer will own UI products throughout the entire lifecycle, participate in flight testing in the field, and use internal and external feedback to continually improve the Airware user experience.
Sample projects
- Using digital terrain elevation data, implement terrain collision awareness by overlaying colors indicating dangerous terrain near the aircraft
- Collaborate with flight controls engineers to design and implement a user interface for intuitively creating a vehicle approach and landing plan through the GCS
- Join the flight testing team to operate the GCS in the field, evaluating usability and efficiency for typical missions and tasks--collect internal and external user feedback and propose interface design improvements
