PubMatic is looking for a API engineer that will help lead the effort to define and build our next generation data analytics and visualization platform. This individual will be responsible for translating product requirements and business needs into well-documented APIs, feeding data visualization reports and dashboards, as well as collaborating with other engineers to enhance the data analytics and capabilities of PubMatic. The ideal person is someone who is passionate about solving challenging problems and building systems able to crunch Petabytes of data quickly and efficiently. This position requires a motivated professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- 7+ years of work experience in relevant field
- Knowledge of HBase and the Hadoop ecosystem is required
- Familiarity with NoSQL systems
- Familiarity working with and building systems that can process Petabytes of data
- Experience with distributed systems and data analysis
- Demonstrable skills building APIs used by diverse groups of stakeholders (third parties, internal teams, UIs, etc)
- 4+ years experience writing multi-threaded and/or distributed applications using Java
- Natural curiosity to find creative and effective solutions for complex problems
- Familiarity with and a proponent of TDD, refactoring, code reviews, continuous integration/deliver and Scrum
- Comfortable refactoring and removing duplication in large preexisting code bases as well as working on greenfield projects
- Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN and Git
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
