Orbis Technologies is seeking an experienced Software Product Engineer in Annapolis, Maryland. This position joins a talented team of software engineers and developers that work on cloud based data analytic solutions for government and commercial clients. Many projects involve use of open source development predominantly in Java, cloud computing including the use of Hadoop, Accumulo, CloudBase, HBase, and core semantic web technologies. The Orbis Product Engineer will have a lead role in advancing, improving and integrating internal software products and technologies for market and customer applications.
- Leads and drives product requirements and advancements from a customer and user driven approach
- Develops recommendations and advice on system development, improvements, optimization, and support efforts
- Provides technical and management support throughout software development lifecycle; supports development team with solutions to client-reported issues
- Effectively uses Java and other programming languages to develop high quality software designs and programs
- Works closely with Sr. Leadership on product roadmap refinement and communication
