RPX is seeking an experienced individual to contribute to the success of the Web Applications team. In this role, the Applications Lead/Architect will help design, deliver, and support technology infrastructure to meet the growth needs of RPX. In this role, this individual will be a trusted technology expert in the web applications team responsible for conceptualizing and designing technology solutions to meet business needs. The Applications Lead/Architect will provide technical thought-leadership in collaboration with the product management team, engineers, and their respective managers to deliver innovative and automated solutions in an agile, dynamic environment. This individual reports to the Manager, Software Engineering and works closely with Systems Development leadership, Project Management, and Information Systems and Technology teams.
Role
- Responsible for the architectural design of the RPX’s technology solutions
- Defines strategy and architecture for our patent data analytics portal and data platform
- Coordinates technology adoption and feature designs across product lines
- Provides leadership in all areas of the development process, including development standards and practices, system architecture, technical design, and implementation
- Formulates and drives best practices around data collections, schema design, workflow, aggregations, storage, and visualization
- Builds prototypes to rapidly iterate on the problem and zero in on the optimal client experience
- Participates in cross-company technology initiatives
- Leads strategic initiatives and is responsible for the company's computing platform
- Ensures that projects do not duplicate functionality, diverge from each other, or diverge from business and Systems Development strategies
- Leads project scoping, roadmap, and architecture discussions with business stakeholders and Systems Development leadership
- Reviews cost- and design-optimized software solutions based on rigorous understanding of costs and returns
- Provides guidance and leadership to technical leads
