What you will really be doing
- Converting IT objects into understandable information.
- Providing the organisation with accurate data for performing analyses.
How will you be doing this?
- You retrieve data from various sources, perform conversions and distribute it via a data warehouse cube with the Microsoft SQL Server toolset.
- You work in multi-disciplinary teams and you can easily navigate a quickly expanding organisation.
What we have worked on last quarter
- Created Hadoop environment and implemented it.
- Optimised ETL processes by smarter use of data in the packages.
- Currently planning the tests for a new, scalable Business-Intelligence environment by using NoSQL and Columnstore technologies.
What a day in the office might look like
You unlock your PC and check that all ETL processes, which run daily, have completed successfully in the data warehouse. You can rest assured: millions of lines processed and no errors found. The product managers and marketers can proceed using the various cubes. Time for your own project: processing a new data source for which proposals for definitions need to be produced. You contact the relevant process owners to work out the correct definition. There are many interpretations of a new measured value so you draw up a plan and discuss it with the Controller. In between, you answer questions from product managers on how to do analysis X.TeamYou will be working in the Business-Intelligence Scrum team and meet daily with our Business Intelligence Developers, Big Data Administrators, Business Analysts, and Data Scientists. Besides that, you will often cooperate with Software Developers and System Engineers. Basically, your day is filled with meeting smart and interesting people.
