The Opportunity:

The Java Hybris Lead/Architect reports to the Ecommerce Development Manager and will lead and contribute to the implementation and maintenance of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's B2C and B2B ecommerce platforms. This role is responsible for working with technical architects, systems analysts, and other developers to deliver the highest quality solutions via cutting edge technologies. The ideal candidate will be heavily involved in all phases of the application development life cycle including research and design, development, testing, implementation and support. Top candidates will have expertise across the ecommerce domain, including extensive experience with the Hybris ecommerce platform, as well integrations with critical business systems including SAP or other ERP solutions and web content management systems. Candidates who exhibit a strong understanding of Agile (Scrum), Test-Driven Development models, Continuous Integration, Cloud-based architecture, build and deployment utilities, and best coding practices are most desirable. A team oriented approach focused on collaboration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to mentor other developers are critical to success in this role.
