Software Development Manager - AWS Identity and Access Management at Amazon (Seattle)

Security is the #1 concern of customers moving to the cloud. AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) enables AWS customers to securely move their workloads to the cloud by providing them control over who can do what in their AWS cloud environment. We are looking for an experienced software development manager to drive the technical execution of a v1 security service developed to help customers secure their data in AWS. We need someone with experience in large scale, high throughput systems, a strong technical background, excellent project management and communication skills, and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. If you are passionate about simple and elegant software solutions, like a customer-focused, results-oriented culture, and get excited about starting from scratch, solving tough technical challenges, this is the job for you. You will work with senior leadership, principal software engineers, the product team, and customers to help define the business requirements to develop and launch a high quality product.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for building a massively scalable digital security systems from defining the product roadmap to initiating, defining and executing the projects necessary to make the roadmap a reality.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
- Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
- Communicate development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior leadership
- Identify, define and drive long term product strategy

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent (MS, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
- Established skill designing and developing simple solutions to complex, interactive customer experiences.
- Strong technical credentials, with at least 4 years experience managing software development teams, with hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience
- Development Expertise in OOP (Java or C++), Web services, and familiarity with UNIX system and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
- Track record of communicating well with executives and non-technical leader
- Track record of successfully delivering high quality projects on time in a fast-paced/rapidly changing environment

- Experience building Identity Access and Management solutions
- Knowledge and experience applying cryptographic concepts to Internet security products or services
- Proven experience in managing large scale enterprise projects
