Madrone is looking for a full stack developer who wants to own a groundbreaking project - all aspects from team building to coding and everything in between. Our company sits at the intersection of finance, science, psychology, and organizational behavior. We are implementing cutting edge research techniques in natural language processing, text analysis, and hypothesis driven quantitative research.
We need a multi-talented Developer who's ready to transition from a developer on a team to a developer who leads. You will be involved in technical and business decisions as we scale our post revenue start up. This role is all about impact as you will assist in the definition, coding, and prioritization of features for the product.
Your goal will be to implement a lean process for software development, quality assurance and issue tracking in order to efficiently transform research ideas to analytics and products. You will make direct technical contributions in all phases of the process.
A day at Madrone could look something like this:
- You arrive to fresh baked treats courtesy of the founder's wife (she can bake!)
- Daily scrum meeting that is five minutes of goal setting and prioritizing
- Writing code to implement a new feature
- Whiteboard the impact of a new data source and analytics code on our database schema
- It's a beautiful day in the Bay Area so have some lunch on our patio and play a friendly game of ping pong with a view of the Bay.
- Code test for developer candidate who could meaningfully help our productivity
- Plan and prioritize the coding of a new risk factor model developed by the quantitative research team
- Things are getting quiet so now you get to code and code some more
