We are looking for entry to mid-level web developers to join our development team at Carvana.  You would be working alongside experienced senior developers on various Azure-based web applications, both public and internal to support the Carvana website and business.  We are very invested in, and experienced with, building senior web developers via the mentoring process at Carvana and would like to help take your talents to the next level.

At Carvana, you will have the opportunity to learn how to create complex JavaScript based web applications, consumer facing web sites, Azure services, Azure queues and a lot more utilizing the latest Microsoft development tools.  If you enjoy working with MVC, JavaScript, or C#, then reach out to us and we can talk!  We have a very easy application process; just email us your resume to recruiter@carvana.com. There is no need to fill out long, boring, forms which ask for the information already contained in your resume.

We value attitude, aptitude, and cultural fit over degrees, years of experience and certifications alone.  If you have the right attitude and the drive to become a senior web developer and work with our mentors, then apply and we can talk through some possibilities!

As a junior to mid-level Web Developer, you will collaborate with mentors and team members on creating, maintaining, and optimizing source code for large web services and web applications using the above technologies.

In addition:

  • Participate end to end in the product life cycle: requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, and implementation

  • Participate in peer discussions on architecture and overall direction of our applications

  • Work with team members to design solutions that are supported by the architecture of the existing systems.

Our development practices

We understand how important it is for developers to stay as up to date as possible. Our IT leadership encourages the use of the latest technology including new versions of Visual Studio and the .NET framework when they become available. New development for both internal and external applications is actively being done with:

  • .NET 4.5

  • C#

  • ASP.NET MVC5 (Razor view engine)

  • JavaScript (migrating towards TypeScript)

  • KnockoutJS

  • WCF (SOAP and REST)

  • Entity Framework

  • Windows Azure

  • Visual Studio 2013

  • TFS 2012

  • SQL Server 2008 R2

  • SQL Azure

Along with early adoption, developers are given everything they need to be successful with these emerging technologies, including subscriptions to Pluralsight as well as in-person training when required.

Carvana is an agile organization that uses Kanban in an effort to reduce overhead and bring the development side of the organization closer to the business side. Because of this relationship, our product owners have complete buy-in to the processes required for producing quality software and they understand how these processes allow them to create competitive advantages and improve their business processes and capabilities.
